It seems the doctor gets younger with each regeneration - he started off as an old man (William Hartnell ?) back in the sixties.
I had similar thoughts to you Steve, like OMG! The new Doctor is a 15 year old unknown. But I was won over by the interview too and I have the advantage of not particularly liking Dr Ten because I had liked Dr Nine so much.
As it goes my favourite Dr was Peter Davidson, He was a much loved actor also playing Tristan Farnan in All creatures great and small and if my memory serves me well also a Dr in a very peculiar practice.
My daughter is rather hoping to be chosen as the next companion....
Well fingers crossed for Divine Daughter.
Peter Davidson was the Doctor that I really remember watching, most people of my age talk about Tom Baker but I just don't remember him the first time around.
Tom Baker was my favourite - but I think this young pup might actually be ok.........
Who? I've not seen the interview yet, but on the strength of your screen grabs he looks like David Tennant crossed with an aftershave model.
I wonder if he'll bring some personality to it or just copy all David Tennant's tics.
My first reaction was slight peevishness that it wasn't Paterson Joseph as I reckon he'd have made an excellent Doctor, followed quickly by "they got Skins in my Doctor Who" but as time goes by I'm increasingly hopeful that it'll be a good thing. After all, this is Moffat's choice and having read little hints about what he's got planned for series 5 there's a lot of potential for awesomeness.
Anyway, it's not like we're going to see owt for over a year, and we've got the final 4 RTD/Tennant specials to get through first. Unless of course those rumours about the McGann/Time War flashback turn out to be true, which is admittedly unlikely.
